The spiral is a very simple form images of them date back to prehistoric times. They appeari everywhere in nature as well as in human made forms. I saw them everywhere as I walked and toured around Salento. Walking a spiral is calming and meditative. My original spiral project unfortunately had to be curtailed due to health issues. My smaller spiral is installed in the front yard of the villa.
It is made from stones found by the beach near the Porto Selvaggio Regional Reserve Park and pinecones collected there and in the front yard of the villa. In this way I have connected and integrated my spiral with my environment. I have also made a short video about the spiral which I had planned to perform in the cave.
